Professor of Modern History at the University of Lleida since 1999. Universitary educated in the classrooms of the former «Estudi General de Lleida» and in the University of Barcelona. Teaches at the «Estudi General de Lleida» and University of Lleida in 1992, focusing on universal History and Modern History of Spain. Ph.D. from the University of Lleida in 1995, with the thesis Oligarquia, municipi i Corona a la Lleida dels Àustria, which won a special award doctorates. His research work focuses on the municipal world of modern centuries, participating in research projects focused on both the History of Lleida, as in social history and literature, historical memory or business bourgeoisie in Catalonia. His main published works are: La historiografía sobre el municipio en la España Moderna (1997), Oligarquia i poder a la Lleida dels Àustria (1997), and El segle XVII, volum 5 of the Història de Lleida (2004). Since 2016 he has been Director of the Department of History of Art and Social History.
